New Jersey City University (NJCU) awarded 1,877 graduate and undergraduate degrees including its first doctoral degrees in Educational Technology at its commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 11. HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores received an honorary doctorate degree and gave remarks at the ceremony.
Flores was recognized for 20 years of leadership of the Association. He has been a strong advocate for equal rights and opportunity and worked tirelessly to advance Hispanic higher education success nationally, strengthened governmental collaborations, and expanded international partnerships.
The honorary degree was presented by NJCU President Sue Henderson, Ph.D.
The ceremony took place at 9:00 a.m. at the Prudential Center in Newark and was live streamed at http://ustream.tv/channel/NJCU-Events.
NJCU is a HACU-member Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).
