The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) hosted a free STEM Summit preparing Latino students for corporate internships and jobs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. The event brought 85 students from 18 colleges and universities together with STEM professionals and corporate representatives at the California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) campus for a one-day event on April 27, 2016.
Students participated in workshops geared towards career preparation, such as Acing the Interview, Branding Your Professional Self and Effective Résumé Writing. Students also received information about applying for paid corporate internships under the HACU National Internship Program.
Five students received scholarships to attend HACU's 30th Annual Conference Student Track in San Antonio, Texas, October 8-10, 2016, which includes hotel, round-trip airfare and conference registration. The students who received scholarships are:

The HACU STEM Summit was sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company and hosted by CSUSB and Pass Go Transferring STEM Success, a partnership between San Bernardino Valley College & CSUSB.
