Heads Up! Beware of Scholarship & Financial Aid Scams

Scams are out there, lurking in phone calls, mailboxes, email inboxes, and shady websites. When you're on the hunt for scholarships and financial aid, be wary of any company or organization that charges a fee for their services. Legit scholarships and financial aid are FREE.
Never Pay for Scholarships:
  • Steer clear of any scholarship that asks for application fees, search fees, or processing fees.
  • No "taxes" or fees should be paid to the organization after receiving a scholarship.
  • Avoid services that "guarantee aid." The aid you get is usually much less than the fee you pay for the service.

Protect Your Information:

  • Never give out your financial information, like bank or credit card account numbers, unless you're sure about the organization's reputation.

At HACU, we're dedicated to helping you achieve your educational dreams without falling for scams. If you have doubts about the legitimacy of a scholarship or service, contact us! We're here to guide you.

Remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Play it safe and avoid the scams!
